Ergotherapy is aimed at promoting the assimilation and processing of sensory stimuli. Disturbed planning of movements, the three-dimensional perception in movements, the co-ordination of the hands with each other and with the eyes are brought closer to normality. This is also supported by suitable aids (splints, aids that facilitate everyday activities, etc.). Further aims are the fine motoricity of the hands and the initiation of non-verbal communication in non-speaking patients.
